E-government development in Magelang Municipality is under the authority of “Kantor Pengolahan Data dan Elektronik” or PDE (Electronic and Data Processing Office). Currently this office has e-government master plan and implemented the master plan in the form of e-government development. The strong commitment of local top management in developing e-government results in very positive progress in the existence of ICT infrastructure in Magelang Municipality Government (Pemko). Currently Pemko Magelang has an official website as the means of giving information online to public. 

The developing skill of human resource in ICT has a best attention which is proved by building computer laboratory with capacity of 20 computer units as a means for workers in Magelang Municipality Government (Pemko). The network infrastructure condition existing in Magelang Municipality is quite complete to be able to connect 53 local government institutions (SKPD) Local Area Network is also built in educational, health sectors, and computer laboratory.

Currently Magelang Municipality Government has some e-government applications among others are SIMBARDA, SIM ARSIP and SIM GAJI which are used by PDE and SIMPEG which is used by Personnel Department (Badan Kepegawaian).
